Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI)
These are infectious organisms that pass from person to person usually through sexual contact. Earlier they were known as venereal diseases (VDs). Currently, the term sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) has replaced venereal diseases. Many health professionals use STD but some of them believed that STIs is more accurate and less judgmental. There are typically two types of STIs:
- Firstly, those which are bacterial and curable
- And secondly, those which are viral and incurable
